Good morning! When my alarm went off at 5:30, I thought there was a mistake. Why does it feel like 5:30 keeps coming earlier?
Oh, I know why.
Graduate school has started back up again. Gone are the nights of reading for pleasure (TEAM PEETA! …Too much?), the ability to make dinner plans with friends, and my motivation to get my ass out of bed to workout in the morning.
I’ll be honest, I skipped my workouts two days in a row because I was simply too exhausted to get out of bed. I also felt a cold coming on and I wasn’t about to let that come to fruition.
So on the days that the gym doesn’t happen and I feel a little sore throat coming on, my beloved lunchbox has to pick up the slack. I do my best to pack foods that are healthy, tasty, and keep me from turning into a hangry lady an hour after I’ve eaten 😉
My mornings have been chocolatey and fueled by Quaker Oats, Special K, and Nutella. Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post – this is a breakfast that keeps me full for hours, and it’s so delicious! The few Special K chocolate bites that melt in the hot oats makes for a breakfast that feels terrible indulgent 😉
My morning wouldn’t be complete without my coffee, of course. I bow to you, Keurig. I just ran out of my favorite French Vanilla Flavor, but this Raspberry Chocolate Truffle doesn’t disappoint!
I’ve plowed through my bananas and grapes, but another snack that I’m loving lately is the Clif Kid Z Bar in the Chocolate Chip flavor. With all this chocolate, can you tell that I’m trying to be healthy during a certain time of the month? 😉
Dinner has been heavy on the protein this week, so I’m looking forward to tonight’s dinner of grilled peppers, onions and rice (and part of a chorizo sausage might make an appearance as well 😉 )
Thinking of my lunchbox makes me hungry. Is it time for a snack yet?!
