Weekend Wrap Up: Celebration Style!

This weekend started off on the right foot: happy hour out on our deck. It’s weird how simply sipping a glass of wine and talking with my husband makes me feel like such an adult. I guess because a few years ago that sentence would have been: “throwing back shots with my boyfriend and yelling at a crowded party.”  Gone are the days… ;)

Saturday, our most favorite couple friends, Bobby and Whitney, came into town to visit. Oh, AND TO CELEBRATE THEIR ENGAGEMENT!!

We are just so beyond thrilled for them. They are absolutely perfect for one another and we’re so glad to celebrate with them during this exciting time.

Whitney and I spent the majority of Saturday morning/afternoon chatting about the wedding. It was so fun to hear about her plans, but it also made me reminisce about when I was planning my wedding.

So much so, that this may or may not have happened…

I was dared to wear my gown out to dinner, and as much as I wanted to, I changed back into my real clothes. We walked around downtown and stopped for cupcakes and drinks before heading out to dinner.

When you’re celebrating things like an engagement, dessert can come before dinner.

Dinner at Portico was delicious. I fell asleep on the ride home, Whitney and I watched Dance Moms while the boys played “yard golf” (?) and we were in bed by 10pm. Yep, it was perfect :)

BAHAHA!! I love this! One day we should just host a party and all the girls can sit around in their wedding dresses and drink wine!!! :)

I’m so glad I didn’t preserve my dress. It’s fun to look at, and once most of my girlfriends get married, I plan on having a girl’s night where we wear our dresses and drink wine. Clearly, my good friend Ashley (who already commented) will be there :) I think I’ll just keep it the way it is, hanging in my closet! Let’s be honest, if I ever have a daughter, this dress will be waaaay out of style by the time she gets married, so I don’t have the idea that one day someone else will wear it. What about you??

I love that you have your dress on! I mean it’s really not fair that we spend so many dollars on a dress and fall totally head over heels with it and then only get to wear it once…

You are adorable. I swear I say that every time I see a picture of you. Glad y’all had a fun weekend. So fun that you wore your dress! :)

this makes me so excited to wear my wedding dress! actually – you just reminded me to call and see when it’s coming in! sounds like a great weekend – I’ll take any excuse to have dessert first!

Bahahaha. I wish you went out to dinner in your dress! So, I got mine washed after I got married (seagull poop just wasn’t doing it for me) only to have it re-dirtied (word?) when I wore it recently in a photo shoot for a friend. Lets just say it was blessed with bird shit again, but this time around, no washing.

Hahaha…without sounding creepy, you are freaking awesome. I LOVE that you busted out your wedding dress! Before I had it preserved, I’d wear it while I brushed my teeth and would have solo dance parties in it like a weirdo. I love that you were just chilling with it on- awesome, haha!

I’m very proud of you and your wine, but if I ever visit you we are going to throw back shots… RIGHT?! And by “if I ever”, I mean “WHEN” because I’m totally already planning it in my head.

That sounds like a great way to spend a day! And I would have backed out on that dare, too. ;-) I would have been worried I’d ruin or stain or spill on my dress! Congrats to the newly engaged couple!
