Weekend in Review

Hello, my friends! I hope you had a spectacular weekend. I was absolutely swamped with work and school last week, so it was absolutely necessary to step away from all things interweb related.

I think I utilized Twitter/Instagram/Facebook a total of five times in three days.

But believe it or not, just because I wasn’t living via social media, I was in fact actually living.

Crazy – right?! ;)

I had a ca-razy week between work and school, so to start things off, I felt the need to self-medicate in the best way I know how.

Nothing like eating your feelings, am I right?!

Come Saturday, Cory and I had the pleasure of attending a couple’s shower for our friends Cush and Rachel. I thought the theme was so cute – before they share the same last name, let’s stock them up to entertain!

Rachel’s aunt and uncle hosted the party and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone agreed it was the most gorgeous home any of us had ever visited, and we had an absolute blast. Even the dads joined in our fun!

I hate shots, by the way. This is my nervous laugh face.

Sunday was much more low key. Our awesome dog woke us up at 6:45, so we begrudgingly started our day before the sun rose. Per the usual, we got rid of some of Campbell’s energy by taking him on a 3 mile walk.

Although I wasn’t thrilled to wake up super early, I adore our morning weekend walks. I truly value that uninterrupted hour of conversation and quality time with Cory. Although I’m ready to move out of the city, I will miss this little loop of ours.

Speaking of leaving the city – we drove out to check on the progress of our house, which is always exciting. Things really seem to be coming along! Come onnn, December!

And lastly, inspired by my friend Hollie’s recent post, I wanted to highlight my Sunday dinner (after our pizza order didn’t pan out – ugh, online ordering.)

And with that, it’s officially time to kick off my birthday week! ;) Have a great day, friends!

Let’s chat:

  • When is your birthday? Mine is on Friday!

They should start making tracking codes for online meal orders like they do for shipments haha :P Then you’ll know where it is, when it’ll arrive, and if it doesn’t you’ll know that your delivery man got lost [aka he is sneakily eating your meal on the side of the road]!

Happy birthday week! Mine was last week and I loveddd every moment of it :D

P.S. Congrats on your new house!!!

In college, whenever our birthday’s were coming up we would announce that week our “birthday week” SO in honor of that I hope you have the best week and Cory should give you everything your little heart desires for the next 7 days ;)

And on a separate note, there is now nothing I want more than a McDonalds bacon egg and cheese bagel….

I love changing a birthday into a birth-week — if only in your own mind — to really take time and appreciate YOU and all that YOU are. :) Plus, treating yourself through that time isn’t too shabby either! ;)
I know how you feel about your house!! I bought a condo in May, and it won’t be fully build until NEXT November! I knew this going in, and it’s why I invested (so I could use the extra time to save up a heftier down-payment), but it’s SO disheartening driving by the site and seeing how little progress they’ve made so far. Oh well — it’ll be worth the wait in the end!! Yours looks like it’s coming along fabulously!

Ah when’s your birthday? Mine’s coming up too, October 7th. Yay October birthdays! And that’s awesome that you took a break from social media living to actually live! It’s so true that people think not updating statuses or instagramming means you’re doing nothing…but the reality is you’re too busy doing other things to even think about that stuff! Looks like a great weekend overall :)
