When I was a baby, my mom didn’t sing me to sleep by crooning the words to Lullaby Baby or Tinkle Twinkle Little Star.
No, friends. She belted songs like the Star Spangled Banner, It’s a Grand Ol’ Flag and God Bless America. She even went through a phase were she would only buy American made products.
I grew up in a home that had an American Flag waving out front, and I learned at a very young age to always thank service men and women for their service. Always.
I’m literally that person who says thank you for your service to any one who identifies themselves as military. I may or may not have gotten a few side eyes in my day from strangers whom I’ve gone out of my way to thank.
Anyway, that’s neither here nor there.
What is here or there, is the fact that I’ve had the opportunity to sample CK Mondavi wine and join them in their partnership with the Intrepid Fallen Heros Fund. To date, the family-owned (and WWII veteran owned) winery has donated over $65,000 to the fund in the last two years.
So, they make wine and give back to American heros. What’s not to love? AMIRIGHT? It’s also important for ME that they’re the only American made/grown wine in the “supermarket wine under $10” category. HELLO.
Here’s a brief video of my first tasting of each wine. Obviously, it’s from an iPhone, because that’s what was on hand/I’m inpatient. Deal with it.
Leave a comment and share your own story about supporting veterans and/or American-made products. I will select ONE reader on Monday, May 5th to be entered into CK Mondavi’s grand prize drawing by May 15. The grand prize is a $500 donation to the in the winner’s name!”
