Unlikely Third Wheel

Last night I went out to dinner at Kobe with my boyfriend and my girlfriend. Contrary to the scathing Yelp reviews, we all absolutely loved the place! We’ve been talking about chowing down on hibachi for weeks now, and thankfully last night was the night!

Funny story: at Longwood (where Cory, Emily and I went to school), the standard dinner time was 5:00. Seriously, everyone was at the dining hall by five for dinner – and honestly, I think we all got used to it.

We don’t necessarily eat dinner at 5:00 anymore, but apparently we still eat much earlier than the average person.

Yep, the three of us had our own personal hibachi chef/dining room. Emily commented that it would have been really romantic if Cory and I had been on a date.

To that, Cory said, “Emily, do you ever feel like the third wheel when you go out with us?”

Emily replied “Nope.”

Cory sighed. “Oh, well I do.”

I just can’t imagine how he could come to that conclusion! ;)

HAHA! Vishnu says the same thing when we’re hanging out with my best friend. And it’s funny when he tries to jump into the conversation, only to not be acknowledged. And then he pouts. I kindaaaa see his point. :)

HA! I totally see his point. Thankfully, he’s such a good sport and we’re actually all friends. I’d feel so bad if I was like “Hey, come hang out with my girlfriends that you aren’t friends with.” But Cory’s better than I am – if his friends come over, who I’m friends with as well, but they want to play video games or watch sports I’m like “SEE YA!” :)

AWE! That is good he is a good sport about that though. :) I hate reading reviews before I go to a restaurant because it gives me such an impression that I even if I hate/love the place-the reviews will be in the back of my mind. lolz!

My husband is the same way, with my best girlfriends. I love him more life…. but there are some things in life that are sacred! My relationships with my girlfriends are priceless, and luckily he doesn’t mind being the third wheel! (He does prefer when their SO is there also, though! Lol.)

I just had a long conversation with my mom about dinner time the other day! I was saying how these days a 5:00 p.m. dinner is nearly impossible with work, commuting, gyming AND prep time. I am lucky if I am eating at 7:30! Morning workouts might help…yes they would.
