Two Major Announcements that Rocked My World

Woah. Can I just take a minute to say how overwhelmed I am by the positive response to my anxiety post? I was so touched by each comment and email and I’m so thankful that that post resonated with so many people – I was so nervous to publish it! Thank you  for making it worth it :)

——————————————–

Okay, on Monday, two major announcements were made that rocked my world.

The first announcement came via radio on the ride to work: Theresa Caputo, THE LONG ISLAND MEDIUM, will be doing a reading in Richmond, Virginia!!

I nearly drove off the rode when I heard the DJ mention giving away tickets. I think it’s a sign from the spirits that I even heard this announcement, because I normally listen to my mixed CDs on the ride to work because I don’t enjoy talk-radio.

I am so obsessed with Theresa and her show, and have no doubts about her skills (judge if you must), but I don’t know if I’m willing to cough up $120 for a ticket. I’m hoping to channel the spirits at the Landmark Theatre and have them convince someone to give this desperate blogger a ticket or two. A girl can dream, right?

The second MAJOR announcement came to me via email from my brother.

I have been a Fall Out Boy fan for a decade, but they’ve been on “hiatus” for quite some time. I loved them before they were cool, and I know that for a fact because the first time I saw them in “concert” it was at the rec center in my neighborhood. There were maybe 100 people there.

When my friend, Meghan, tweeted me the night before, I was so excited, but skeptical to get my hopes up. I mean, I’ve been waiting for this announcement for a few years now.

As soon as I got this email from my brother, I flipped out, calling him saying OHMYGODDD!!! We’re so going!

He agreed.

Later that day, I called him, and when he answered, I couldn’t help but sing “Where is your boy tonight? I hope he is a gentleman. Maybe he won’t find out what IIIII know: you were the last good thing about this part of town.”

He was not impressed.

Here’s the thing: tickets for BOTH events go on sale THIS FRIDAY. I’m not one to joke about serious things (yes I am) but I might have to take a Xanax or two to keep myself in check. I mean, I cannot (cannot!) let these tickets sell out without getting my hands on a pair.

Let’s chat – Anyone a fan of either Theresa Caputo or Fall Out Boy?

  1. I love Theresa! I almost think that I would pay $120 to see her! Now I wonder, if it costs that much for a large group reading, how much does she charge for private readings??

  2. Ashley Crute says:

I love the Long Island Medium, she is totally worth the price, but if you do go can we get a double reading, I’ll tell my relatives to talk to you! hahaha

  3. Megan says:

I have never watched the Long Island Medium BUT I do love Fall Out Boy. I went and saw them back in like 2004 or something (gosh I feel old). Fall Out Boy makes me super happy and just makes me think of HS!

  4. I lived in Toronto for about 4 months back in 2006 and it was there that I heard the magic of Fall Out Boy! Hum Hallelujah was my fave. They weren’t as big over here in Ireland but I really hope they come here for a gig because I REALLY want to go. Slightly worried about who I can drag with me though…

  5. I like a couple of Fall Out Boys’ songs but not a huge fan.
and i LOVE Theresa and her show and her family. I think she is so awesome.

  6. carlyjg says:

Omg. I just played that song and I’m getting those weird memory flashbacks. Weeirrrd. But kind of hilarious.

  7. I’m so jealous and honestly, I think that is totally worth it to go see her. I mean expensive…yes…but worth it? I think so.

  8. Casey says:

I pretty much had the same reaction when I saw that FOB was back on facebook. Day. Made.

  9. I love Fall Out Boy too! Do you like the new song?!

  10. o2befitmom says:

New reader here and I love your blog and sense of humor !

  11. Angela says:

I love both of these things. I went through a huge FOB stage…and I’m currently in a huge LIM stage. Huge fan. (Also…I abbrev the names because I feel like that makes me an even bigger more devoted fan. Right!? :)

  12. Kendra says:

I, too, was at that concert at the rec center when they came to our neighborhood! Their songs own my mixed CDs. I am WAY excited!!!

  13. Amanda N. says:

My boyfriend and I (barely) snagged tickets to Fall Out Boy today! They sold out in something like 7 minutes! Hope you got your hands on a pair!
