Totally Truthful Thursday: (Pre) House Hunters Edition

1. I can’t really eat. Or sleep. Or anything in between. Why? Oh, I’m only paralyzed by fear because our House Hunters episode airs tonight on HGTV.

Thanks to my friends, LK, for tweeting this picture to me and making me barf at work.

2. I’ll say it now: If you watch the episode and hate me afterwards, please keep in mind that it leans way towards the scripted side.

3. I am fearful that I will have to write a “Behind the Scenes” post, just to clarify any embarrassing things we may have said or done.

4. Because of camera stuff I don’t understand, we could only wear certain colors, and very few patterns. I forgot what I wore, and I’m very nervous about it.

5. Let’s all agree right now that the camera definitely adds 10 – 25 pounds.

6. Jamie will be here for moral support (and more importantly, wine-glass-refiller.) Emily will be sorely missed.

7. If you watch it, let me know. Mmmkay?

I’ve been looking forward to watching (let’s be honest, recording and then watching because I go to bed when it’s light out) the episode since you mentioned it first on the blog. And I have a feeling you’ll be adorable on camera.

  14. livliveslife says:

That is so cool! I’m excited to watch it – House Hunters is one of my favorite shows! And I’d love a behind the scenes post, because I always wonder about truth versus fiction on tv shows.

  15. carlyjg says:

  22. Danica says:

  26. Beth H says:

Oh wow!! I watch that show on a regular basis.. Although I don’t know you personally – just a reader of your blog the last couple of years, it wi be almost like knowing someone actually on the show. Will definitely be watching tonight!!

  27. Woohoo can’t wait to watch!!!

  28. oh no, just realized i missed this! hopefully they do reruns or something, would love to see it!

  29. Jackie says:

Wow, you & Cory did a great job! 98% of the time I watch HH, I’m making fun of the ‘hunters’, but you guys were really likable and relatable. Good show!

  30. Cam says:

Um, okay, I’ll admit I’m a creepy stalker who looked you guys up while watching. I do that whenever people are either a) so annoying I can’t believe they’re real or b) likeable and I want to find out more about them. You guys were definitely the latter. So from a complete stranger who watches the show nearly every night, I found you to be likable, and as the person above stated, very relatable. Great job and enjoyable episode.

  31. Cam says:

    p.s. I also bookmarked your blog. :-)

  32. Lemons says:

You guys were funny. I liked the episode. You seem like cool people.

  33. Tabs says:

Watched it. LOVED it!! You guys were the best couple I’ve seen in a long time on that show! Cory was hilarious with the toilet thing and I loved when you told the realtor you were going to kiss her on the mouth when you saw the walk in closet. The show was great so don’t be embarrassed. Oh, and your outfits were all super cute! :)

  34. I watched! I love you … you are absolutely adorable! :-) My husband watched with me and actually LOLed when you told your realtor that you wanted to kiss her on the mouth. haha :-)

  35. I totally forgot this was airing but stumbled upon it anyways! And you guys were great! Congrats on the beautiful home!

  36. I don’t have cable but feeling totally left out! Possible to watch it online?

  37. Christian says:

Good episode. Elongated comfort height toilets – yes. Laughed a great deal.

  38. LOVED your episode! I did not realize it was you until I saw that on Chelsey’s post this morning. I was watching and thought, ” DANG, she looks familiar!” but I couldn’t place it ;) .

  40. Susan says:

We had so much fun watching last night! You, Cory, and of course, Cambell were AWESOME. I know I am biased, but you guys were the best looking family I’ve ever seen on HH. And not to mention hilarious! I was on pins and needles wondering which house you would pick. LOL!

  41. Parita says:

Man! I wasn’t able to catch the episode last night but am hoping it’s posted on the HGTV website soon!!

  42. Coco says:

This is such a weird coincidence….I found your blog awhile back because my name is also Colleen, and I have been reading it off and on since. Then, last night, I turned on House Hunters and kept thinking…I know this girl from somewhere but I can’t place where. And this morning, Courtney @ Sweet Tooth Sweet Life posted about the episode and here I am!!! I thought it was hilarious, and I know someone who was also on it and you are right–it is scripted and you already have the house bought before you “look” at the others. Or at least that’s what that person told me!!!

  43. kelly says:

the whole toilet issue had me cracking up…

  44. just watched it! love the house you picked! and i love all the outfits you were wearing!

  45. i’ve heard that it is severely scripted and altered.

  46. Like Cam, I, too, felt compelled to become stalker-like! A friend of mine was the realtor for the third house shown so I was excited to watch the episode. Loved the home you chose….absolutely beautiful! I know you guys are enjoying every square foot of it! Congratulations….and welcome to this new and beautiful neck of the woods!

  47. Erin says:

I’ve never read your blog before, but I saw the link over to here on a few other blogs I do read. My husband and I watched this episode last night and thought you were hilarious! We went to college in Richmond and he said that if we ever moved back that you and I for sure would be BFFs. (And your kitchen is gorgeous!!)

  48. JCHokie says:

I happened to catch it and watched it bc my mom lives in RIC and I was just there earlier this week visiting. Then I just came across your blog via STSL’s blog. Hope you guys are enjoying your new home!!!

  49. Amy says:

I just watched your episode, thought you guys seemed cute and normal :) Anyway, when I watched it for some reason I thought you looked like a girl who would have a blog…is that weird? Yeah, it’s weird :) Anyway, I googled you and found your blog and just have to say, I think you have a Doppleganger! You look so much like Kristin from the blog Iowa Girl Eats (at least on TV and your blogs :) Maybe that’s why I thought you’d have a blog??

Congrats on your new house…and toilets :)

  50. I just watched it tonight, and I loved it! I thought the whole toilet thing was funny — my husband is convinced that it was scripted to make the show funny, but was it? Anyway, I’m jealous that your first home is so spacious and brand new — it’s beautiful!
