Last weekend at my friend Ashley’s bachelorette party, we spent some time at the Tobacco Company shaking our groove thangs on the dance flo’. Out of nowhere, this dude falls in love with our friend Katie and starts dancing with her, all serious like. Clearly, I was in no mood for his serious romantics.
The other day, I was super overwhelmed. I then had Five Guys for dinner, and it calmed my nerves. I suddenly realized how easy it must be to gain weight in a stressful situation. That, I will keep in mind!
I am always colder than everyone else. Everyone else in the room can be perfectly comfortable, yet I’m freezing. I feel that this picture provides a solid example.
I have had only ONE iced coffee this “season.” This is a truth I’m ashamed to admit.
I have been going crazy on Pintrest. I kind of fell out of love with it for a while, but now I’m back and have some serious pinning to do! I also have a new follower that I’m pretty excited about
Tonight is a YO-YO (yo’ on yo’ own) dinner. We’re trying to clean out our fridge/pantry rather than buying new stuff every week, and tonight we’re at the end of the rope. I already think I know what I’m going to have…
And now – I’m going to hang out with my two favorite boys! Have a great night, friends!
Let’s chat – What are you having for dinner tonight? (aka: give me some good ideas for next week!
)

I’m also having a makeshift dinner tonight. I have a yoga class so there’s no time to cook – just come home and eat what I can find! I think I’m usually always hot when everyone else thinks it’s perfect haha
I fell out of love of Pinterest too, but you can so easily get sucked back in! And, I am total opposite of you on the body temp front. I’ll warm you up, you cool me down? Si?
PS Tomorrow’s post is inspired by Y-O-U!
Ha, yes! Then we’ll be the perfect temperature! I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s post!!
I am always cold too! I have a space heater in my office…truth. I highly recommend it!
Yeah, I’ve moved away from Pinterest also. Lol. I think it’s more because I don’t have the funds or space to craft right now… and I want to drive straight to Michaels or Jo-Anns after browsing that site! Lol. It’s very easy to gain weight while stressed (or moving like I just did.) Or if you just love delicious food. Or hate working out. Shit. I’m screwed.
Too funny…we call our dinner nights like that – “mustgo” because everything in the fridge/pantry must go before another trip to get groceries!
Cereal for dinner sounds pretty awesome right now! I am always cold too, i sleep with a comforter and at least 3 blankets at all times even in the summer!
I think I gain weight LOOKING at food! I am your opposite – I always run a few degrees hotter than everyone else…my co-workers love me because they are hitting menopause, so I don’t mind the AC on for hours {I’m the youngest at my job}.
Dinner tonight is Tomato Basil Chicken with some noodles…yum!
Haha YOYO. I love it. I’m legitimately surprised my mom has never said this to me.
Grilled chicken and veggies on the BBQ!
I had pizza and a salad with a friend…nothing crazy, but it hit the spot!
1. In that photo of the sandwich and fries–what is that stuff in the little container? Butter? Mayo? Fry dip? ha ha, you have me stumped.
2. I am always freezing too! I went to a yoga class last night and immediately asked the instructor if it’s always this cold in the studio (have they never heard of hot yoga?!) and then felt like a total idiot when she said she was sweating.
3. Despite my cold bloodedness, I am proud to admit that 90 percent of the time I choose iced coffee–even in January…in Minnesota!
4. True story, the other night I couldn’t sleep so I was playing on Pinterest and thought to myself, “I could use a good laugh…who pins funny stuff?” and then I was like “Bam! I’ll search for Colleen!” Hence me pinning like half of your stuff all in one night.
5. I love the name you use for the on you own dinner night. Andy’s at a friend’s house to watch a basketball game tonight…I was invited but I mean, let’s be honest…I already had jammies and glasses on. So, he went and I proceeded to eat umpteen amounts of banana bread while laying in bed watching Pretty Little Liars, which I’m also kind of ashamed to admit that I love that show. And wow, that was a run on sentence if I ever saw one!
Okay, have a great night!
I am always cold too!
And I need to start some YO-YO dinner nights!
I have been making a go to meal a lot lately- this week is sweet potato (2 cubed and thrown in a warm/hot pan), 1/4 of red onion (diced up & into the pan, although I only had a Vidalia- oops), 2-4 cloves of fresh garlic (diced up, into pan), add 1/4 cup of water (or a little oil/butter), sprinkle with a good amount of paprika and a little bit of cayenne pepper (depending on your spice level). Once the sweet potatoes are softer add mushrooms, sugar snap peas, zucchini, whatever other veggies you have on hand! Top with toasted pecans and serve it on cous cous or quinoa. mmm
I love the Yo-Yo dinner thing. Hilarious!!!
Haha, my mom used to call night when we were on our own for dinner “fend for yourself” night.
Last night we had a Greek salad with chicken. Delicious! I posted about it a while ago, if you want to know what I throw in mine: http://www.thingsafterrings.com/whats-for-dinner-wednesday-greek-salad/ I think the next time we make it we’ll try it with steak on top for something a little different.
homemade pizzaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
that photo of you and Cory is awesome. SO awesome. aaaand just another way in which we are the same person. IT’S ALWAYS COLD. I have my space heater on in my office right now…… seriously.
I’ve realized more than ever that I’m an emotional eater. If I’m upset, sad, frustrated – my “go to” place is the kitchen. By the time I’ve eaten my feelings I feel worse than before! It’s so easy for my emotions to cause me to overeat.
