Totally Truthful Thursday

  • I haven’t worked out this week  due to my oh-so-tragic injury and I’m becoming fidgety and self-conscious *cue violins*
  • My least favorite hashtag in the entire Twitter universe? #foodporn

  • I’m ready to say see ya, summer. I don’t live near the beach and I’m pasty year-round, so I welcome jeans and scarfs and boots with open arms!
  • I am sad that the Giants lost. No, not because I’m a fan of the Giants (or football in general) but because now that it’s football season, Cory’s mood is strongly correlated to the outcome of  of each NYG game.

  • Sometimes, if Campbell does his biznass and we’re the only witnesses, I retain my dignity and don’t pick up.

  • I feel badly for people who spend their time shit talking on GOMI. Really? You’re going to criticize people who put themselves out there, while you hide anonymously behind your keyboard and WizardLvr420 screen name? I think that’s sad.
  • I’m one of the 1.5 million people who bought the $10 for $5 Starbucks Living Social deal. Are you?

  • I’m currently completing my internship for grad school. That means that I’m counseling people. That blows my freakin’ mind, man.
  • If I’m ever in a funky mood, the surefire way to make myself smile is to look through pictures of our wedding day. We experienced a day full of such love and happiness, and I can’t help but smile while looking back on the best day of my life.

  • I have a serious question – when is it appropriate to start decorating for/celebrating fall? I’ve had one PSL, which was glorious, and I’m anxiously awaiting our third annual CornMazing adventure.

  • Don’t forget to take part in the conversation – tell me something about YOUR Thursday! :)

I bought the Starbucks LivingSocial deal…shocking right? And used it to get my first PSL of the season this morning. Of glorious, heavenly goodness!!! I have been a shopping whore lately, stocking up on fall clothes! So I am ready to put these new boots and scarves to use :)

I totally know what you mean about football season. My husband is the same way about the Eagles. I’m like this is not life or death, man. He’s gotten a lot better over the years; there was one time in high school when he couldn’t even talk to me on the phone because he was so devastated that the Flyers lost in the playoffs. No joke, he can probably tell you exactly what game I’m talking about and exactly what happened.

But I’ve been reading Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss (fascinating) and she talks about how our spirits need to feel like we’re part of a tribe, a group that’s bigger than us, one that shares common attitudes and beliefs. And it hit me: that must be why people get so into specific sports teams and identifying with political parties. Now I’m much more understanding when Mike gets really into sports–I’m like oooh, he’s nurturing his spirit, how sweet. Haha.

HAHAH! I am one of the people that bought the Starbucks deal and my fall decorations are already up, so it’s not too early!

I need to get my hands on some pumpkin spice candles. And it’s still in the 90′s here, too. I’m ready for it to get a little bit cooler!

Joshua’s mood will be affected by the outcome of games too… but honestly, mine sometimes is too :-X (ugh can’t believe i just admitted to that haha).

I think it’s perfectly okay to start decorating for fall about 2 weeks into September. :)

I bought the Starbucks deal, can’t wait for my first PSL… Of course that means I might have to say goodbye to my iced coffee for a while, which makes me a little sad. But I’m the weirdo in December who will still order a skinny iced mocha every now and again – oh well! And I usually whip out the fall decorations after Sept 15th. Seems like officially Fall at that point. Hope you are loving counseling others! That is awesome!

I’ve had one PSL too, and it was AMAZING! I don’t know when it is ok to decorate for fall. I LOVE summer and hate to see it go, but I really like fall too. I’m thinking I’ll wait maybe 2 more weeks before pulling out all my fall things…

I eagerly anticipate Fall as well–Minnesota lakes are horrible compared to a beach by the ocean!

I’m holding off on decorating for this season for a couple more weeks–if I can last! I want the leaves to change color before I start pulling out pumpkins and gourds!

It’s an AWFUL website. I’ve only gone when there are tons of hits to my page on a certain day. Then I know they’re talking about me. But after the last time – I decided it was the last time. Who needs to read ridiculously mean stuff about themselves? No one! It’s silliness.

    • Colleen says

Oh yeah, if he shits on a sidewalk (he’s a city dog, after all) I will always pick it up. But if he parks in a random low-traffic area…I’m not so good about picking it up hahah

I am totally one of the 1.5 million that got in on the Starbucks deal and I plan on getting my an iced pumpkin coffee today after work. I’m ready for Fall, but with triple digits here in Texas, it’s got to be iced! Super cute wedding photo!

    • Colleen says

Oooh, ICED! For some reason, I’ve never thought to get an iced PSL. I hear ya though – I’m ready for it to get a little cooler here in Virginia!

  9. Erika says

I’ve never had a Pumpkin Spiced Latte! Maybe this will be the year that I change that.

For being a 4-day work week it is still taking forever! It’s only Thursday :(

  10. Rachel Cave says

I laughed at loud at your picture of your dog and the poop comment. My co-worker even had to ask me what was so funny. She also found it humorous :)

  11. says

I actually did not buy the deal because even though I live near Seattle, I have never been a Starbucks fan. :( But…my Thursday is looking beautiful and I’m looking forward to cooking halibut for dinner tonight!

  12. says

ugh thursday i was in the CRANKIEST mood ever and then a spur of the moment i decided to go to baltimore this weekend -i’m really excited to just get away! i feel like i look to get away every weekend haha. and my moms mood is TOTALLY dependent on the giants – she woke up thursday AM and was like “I’m in a HORRIBLE mood” i’m like chill out – think about how eli feels hahah

  13. says

My husband never picks up our doggy’s poop. But he’s 6’5″ and a dude so I know none of the neighbors will yell at him…on the other hand I’ve already been yelled out/threatened once for not picking up her poop (when she was only peeing) by a neighbor when I walked her alone soooo I get really PO’ed when the hubs is neglectful!

I cannot believe GOMI exists. Wtf. What a sad life that person must live…

After this crisp morning I think fall decorating could commence in about a week or so! I can’t wait!
