Totally Truthful Thursday

1. For the past few days, I have been somewhat allergic to the gym. Meaning, when I think about it, my body starts hurting and I decide it’s better to just stay in bed until 6:30.

2. We recently went antiquing, and Cory was reminded of why we can’t have nice things or go nice places (read: I love any that is inappropriate.)

3. I know it’s kind of early, but I am in desperate need for some creative ideas for a Halloween costume. I’m not above being festive and slutting it up, but I normally feel awkward when I’m half naked in public/like an idiot when I say “I’m a cat! Get it? I have on a leotard, heels, and kitty headband!”

4. THIS article made me LOL.

5. Cory and I are currently binge-watching Orange is the New Black. I wasn’t hooked by the first episode, but now that we’re a few deep, I’m obsessed. I love/hate that at the end of each episode, I’m like, Okay – just one more.

6. I’ve not yet run to my local Starbucks for my beloved PSL – and it’s been super difficult. It need it to be cooler. I need to be wearing boots. It needs to feel like fall. I am so weird.

7. My parents looked so good this past weekend!

8. My current life struggle: On Fridays, I LOVE Fridays…

…On Saturdays, I HATE Fridays.

Cory was away a few weekends ago. This was my response to “how was ladies’ night?”

9. I’m in this phase of life where I’m really okay with myself. And it feel awesome.

If you remember this post from last year, you know it’s something I’ve been battling with for a while. Little situations recently have reminded me of how proud of myself I am. It feels good to feel good! ;)

10. This makes me laugh every.single.time I see it.

Reason #1000 why we are the same person – I REFUSE to order a PSL latte. It’s far too early. I’m still wearing flip flops, and shorts, and using the AC. Once I can break out the boots and scarves and maybe once the leaves start changing, I’ll be ok with ordering my favorite drink of the year!

  2. Your parents look so cute! I haven’t ordered a PSL yet either. I’m trying to hold out until the first day of fall, but I’m not sure if I can wait that long.

  3. P.S. I’m glad that you are feeling comfortable with yourself! I’m getting there…I know how much of a struggle it can be to let go of control sometimes!

  4. #9? I love it! I feel like I’m in a similar place, and does it feel good. And that llama pic? Reminds me of the koala-fications one.

    Happy Thursday, lady!

  5. clarebrady says:

hahha. i’m totally okay with you too.
maybe i’ll come visit and we can brainstorm halloween costumes.

  6. OITNB is such a good show. Fun Fact: did you know Chapman is the same actress that plays the main girl in The Lucky One.

  7. Maureen says:

Alpaca lunch?? Hilarious! I am so glad you’re back from your blogging break.

  8. You Are AWESOME. And I’m glad you know it and feel awesome. I’ll join you for a PSL when it gets colder as well! And Orange is the best, I’m super obsessed.

  9. Tiff says:

Yay for #9! That’s great. As for Fridays… ha. Though I miss a few crazy Fridays, I can’t say I miss any of those Saturday mornings now that I’m preggers.

  10. Doesn’t it feel great to feel at peace with yourself? Just that feeling of contentment, you know? It’s a great feeling for sure. I’ll have to keep watching Orange is the New Black. I got through the first episode, and didn’t get hooked, but you give me hope. ;)

    • Colleen says:

It does feel so good! And yes, try to get past the first episode. As they go on, you find out why each of the characters are in prison, so it’s interesting!

  11. Susan says:

#4…HA! I have short hair (which I must say is FABULOUS ;) ) and my personal favorite is “You know you are a girl, right?”. This from my mother no less!

  12. Alpaca lunch!!! baaaaaahaha. died.
ok and i need to check out orange is the new black because i keep hearing from my credible sources (i.e. people with the same taste as me) that it is so good!

    • Colleen says:

YES! It’s a good show! It’s the THE BEST SHOW EVERRRR but it’s clever and I laugh every episode. Regardless, I’m obsessed and need to see how the season ends.

  13. Hungover Saturdays are the worst. Every time I have one I think, “I am not doing this next weekend!” And then I go ahead and do it again the next weekend. lol

  14. I love the alpaca! Orange is the new black is the same for me I love it then I’m not into in BUT I have to see the next episode. I had the first hangover in forever this weekend… it’s never a bad idea at night, it’s the morning that gets you!

  15. #9 — what an awesome sentiment! Good for you, girl, and thanks for inspiring the rest of us to feel the same!

  16. Judy L says:

I love alpacas! <3 And #1 is exactly what I'm thinking these days, haha. Especially since it's cooled down so much, makes me not want to get out of bed.

  17. Courtney says:

I continue to get more and more okay with myself, and I must agree, it feels amazing! Props to us :)

  18. Alex and I are binge watching Orange is the New Black, too. I can’t decide if I like it or not, but either way, I have to finish the season haha

  19. Love #9! :)
Also too too early for pumpkin anything IMO!!!

  20. I watching Orange is the New Black right now too! I agree that the first episode wasn’t a catch, but I heard so many good things about the show that I kept watching. Now I can’t stop!

  21. I waited until September hit – August was too early! And so far, it has just been an iced pumpkin chai from Caribou Coffee! =) I want fall weather before I get my mocha or latte hot! I can’t wait until I’m in that place to be awesome with myself…hoping it comes soon!

  22. I am the SAME way about the whole PSL debacle. Everyone is telling me to get it iced since it’s so hot out, but just no. It has to be hot for at least my first one of the season. I share the same weirdness ;)

  23. A.K. says:

I love love love this post, and I’m so glad you’re back to blogging! I’ve missed your sense of humor in my day-to-day. I’m so glad you’re feeling so at home being Colleen. After all, you’re the best Colleen Nichols I know! ;-)

  24. Jodi M says:

Loved #4 – it was hilarious! Some of those comments sound so familiar.

  25. Melissa says:

#3–You TOTALLY need to dress up like Miley Cyrus at the awards show … you did say you weren’t against going half-naked (or something like that). Plus, it’d be HILARIOUS! Your hubby can be one of those creepy teddy bears. LOL!
