Thoughts When my Alarm Goes Off for a Morning Workout

It was cold last night. There might be dangerous black ice on the road. I should play it safe and probably just stay here in bed.

It’s dark outside, and deer are outside. A deer outside in the dark might jump out in front of me and total my car. I couldn’t afford that, so I should probably just stay here in bed.

I don’t have any clean socks, and that would be disgusting. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, so I should just probably stay here in bed.

I think I’m going to start my period sometime soon. Cramps hurt me when I move, so I should probably just stay here in the fetal position in bed.

The instructor for Body Pump on Tuesdays is kind of a bitch. I hate bitches, so I should probably just stay here in bed.

*Pinches stomach* Eh, that’s pretty standard. If I don’t feel too fat, I should probably just stay here in bed.

*Pinches stomach the next morning* Oh my GOD, I’m such a whale. I’m a lost cause, so I should probably just stay here in bed.

When my alarm goes off on a Saturday morning to meet friends for brunch:

When you gotta get up, you gotta get up!

  1. Hahahaha. I totally do that ‘pinches stomach’ thing. Sometimes my husband catches me and asks if I have a stomachache. Nope, just feeling my fat…

I like your reasons for not getting up! Especially the deer one! :)

  3. Danielle says:

You should join Crossfit. I never have those thoughts anymore! I used to have them every single day which is why I never went to the gym haha.

  4. Pretty much me every damn morning, except I’m not even trying to get up early to workout, just get my ass to work. I’d love to say I have more motivation in the evenings, but it’s even less likely I will head out then as well. Stupid winter. (Yes, that will be my excuse & I’m sticking to it.)

  5. This is hilarious- loved the fat pinching and body pump instructor one!

  6. Maureen says:

    All of the above!!!!!!!

  7. HAHAHA! Yes to all of these. For my 5:30 class I also do the I should hit snooze once more so I’m not the first person at the door, that’s embarrassing.

  8. Jamie says:

I LOVE THIS!!! And it’s soooo been me lately! :)

  9. Yep. Every time. I’ve slowly but surely tricked myself into getting up so fast and getting in the car, that by the time I’m thinking those thoughts, I’m already driving to the gym. It’s only worked twice.

  10. All of these excuses are exactly why I don’t wake up early to workout! I just squeeze it in later when I can! Also – love that lasagna e-card. I may or may not make that my status sometime soon.

  11. LOL!!! I do similar things but it’s more when it comes to going out at night vs. hibernating on the couch. ;)

  12. Bahahaha this was TOTALLY me this morning!! I came up with all the excuses to not go to my group fitness class and decided to “just do a workout DVD at home” – ha! That never happened either. Whoops. Tomorrow, tomorrow… ;)

  13. Cait says:

Just died laughing ha! love this :)

  14. This is so awesome. I ALWAYS choose bed over working out. Hopefully that will change once the snow banks outside aren’t the size of a giant, but we’ll see…

This may be my favorite post of all time.

  17. I love this! I can totally relate.

This is hilarious! I am exactly the same way. This entire winter I have told myself there may be black ice on the roads, so I can’t go to my 5:30 class. That one never fails to keep me in bed. Safety is MY priority!
