This Weekend I…

This weekend I was more relaxed than I’ve been a long time. We had absolutely no plans to guide us and it was glorious. While I enjoy being busy and appreciate having the ability to travel, I crave being home, sleeping in, and not having to go-go-GO.

This weekend, I went to Mass for the first time in God only knows how long (pun intended.) I needed it.

This weekend I got serious about my New Year’s goals. I’ve intentionally kept these off the blog (for now), as I’m not ready to share the backstory just yet, but what I will tell you is that I want 2013 to be a year of refocus.

From what I’ve read so far, I’ve fallen in love with the concept of 7, as well as the author, Jen Hatmaker. Seriously – I want to be friends with this woman.

This weekend I laughed out loud, a lot. For one, I could not get over how much Cory’s Pink Lemonade flavored Sweet Frog resembled the pink shit that chicken nuggets are made out of. Gross.

My brother works for Apple and if you can recall, Cory is an Apple junkie; so when I saw this in an office this weekend, I giggled out loud.

Lastly, this weekend culminated in me getting real serious about planning ahead. I prepped and packed Monday’s lunch.

I went ahead and picked out Monday’s work outfit.

I even made the decision ahead of time to SKIP the gym on Monday morning in exchange for extra sleep.

Has this something to do with my New Year of refocusing?

Ummm – notsomuch.

DOWNTON ABBEY!!! Oh sweet Lord, I can hardly contain my excitement. I re-watched episodes on Amazon Prime and I watched interviews of cast members on YouTube, all because I’m crazy in preparation for the Season 3 premier.

The only down(ton) fall is that I’ll have to stay up until 11:00. Um, it’s a work night, PBS Masterpiece.

Let’s chat – Who else is obsessed with Downton Abbey?! If you’re a reader in Europe, please no spoilers! ;)
