Thanks, BuzzFeed, for Making my Night

I was in 4th grade when Hanson became the center of my universe.

I was chubby and at the prime of my awkward stage (which lasted longer than most people’s, I might add). I lived in either jorts or biker shorts, oversized Looney Tunes t-shirts, and I was the frazzled single mother of approximately 7 tamagotchis.

My entire room was wallpapered with posters of Taylor, Zac, and Isaac and I may or may not have kissed them goodnight more than once.

Zac was my favorite for three reasons. First, he was so cute. Second, Tiger Beat always portrayed him as the most fun brother. Third, I was realistic. Taylor was too old for me (he was 14) and Isaac was so unfortunate looking.

So, naturally, the burning question in 1997 was, Who in the hell are LUCY and MADELINE and what do they have that I don’t?!

I digress.

All I wanted to do was tell you guys that I saw this article on BuzzFeed and my night was made.

It also stole 90 minutes of my life as I continued to watch Hanson YouTube videos. Those videos on the sidebar always leave me wanting “just one more.” But really, why wouldn’t I want to watch 20+ Hanson music videos and Where are They Now-ish interviews? Especially because now, they look like this:

Exactly.

You already know how happy this post makes me. High-five for our forever Hanson love.

  2. Bahahaha. I was OBSESSED with them!! And still am for the most part, haha. Have you heard their 2011 album? I’m in love with the song “Give a Little” by them right now. This made my morning, haha. And that part about tamagochis, I feel ya. I made my mom watch them sometimes. haha.

  3. My favorite Pandora station is my Hanson Pandora station. It gets me through lots of homework!!

Danielle posted that on Facebook last night and I did the saaaaame thing! I totally had a jam sesh in my car the other day when my iPod (which was on shuffle) decided to play one of their catchy tunes! My 12 year old self was in pre-teen pop heaven. I was a BIG Taylor fan and will admit to kissing the posters I had of him on my wall lol

Haha your tomagotchi (sp?) comment was hysterical!

  7. This made my day! Thank you so much.

Your fashion sense during the awkward phase sounds exactly like me. I loved those oversized Looney Tunes shirts and thought I was the coolest. I also had glasses (with pink frames!) and braces during this time. Hello, gorgeous!

I think Hansen and jorts go together like PB and chocolate.

And thanks, Colleen, for making my day :)

    Favorite band. Ever. Like, seriously.

  11. I saw this, too! Definitely guilty of having it on repeat at work…

  12. Erika says:

Wow – they sure grew up good!

  13. I love Hanson. Love Love Love. My sister was obsessed with them. I saw that video I think last year (???) and it’s a good one. They all grew up into such handsome young men. ::sigh::

  14. Ummmmm, wow. I wasn’t even a fan, but I’m really impressed by that video. Way to go boys!

  15. Made. My. Month. not even kidding.

  16. Angela says:

I was a Zack Hanson fan, I may or may not have put purple lipgloss on his poster every night to kiss… Then it stained his lips purple and he reallllly looked like a girl. How embarrassing. I’m now married to a Zack…coincidence? I think not.

  17. Chelsea says:

Hellooo boys! My oh my they have turned out to be much better looking than I ever would have thought! Love this post!

  18. As you commented on my blog last week: “we are the same person.” FREAKING LOVE THEM! I may have also spent my Christmas cookie baking day listening to their old Christmas album and dancing around my kitchen. Best.day.ever. ;)

  19. Love me some middle Hanson brother!

  20. Sara says:

Oh don’t worry, my friends and I watched old Hanson videos last month, followed by some Backstreet Boys and Nsync… for a casual two hours!

  21. I seriously lol’d at the single mother of tomagatchi comment!

  22. Oh my God. Hanson grew up well. I wasn’t a realistic child and loved Taylor, despite him being too old for me…sigh. Miss those days.

  23. The ‘let’s be realistic, Taylor was too old for me’ part cracked me up. I was a Zac lover too, because 1) he was clearly the cutest, 2) he was around my age and 3) he played the drums awesome like the fun little thing he was. I remember going to their concert with my I ‘heart’ (insert picture of Zac’s face in the heart) Zac. I swear he saw my sign (I know, he didn’t), and I cried.

  24. I am a new visitor to your blog and three posts down I am hooked. This post could easily be a page out of my diary (if I had one), every detail is spot on with my relationship with Hanson over the years. Love.

  25. Paige says:

I’m such a Hanson FAN…even to this day! I’m so glad I’m not alone! Thanks for posting :)
