I’m not sure if you’re aware, but the biggest game in football is on next Sunday night. I’m super pumped because not only does this game signify the end of football season and me getting my husband back on Sundays, but it’s also one of the biggest snack days of the year.
(I can’t be the only one who looks forward to the Big Game simply for the food, right?)
I hate the idea of perpetuating female stereotypes, but I have zero interest in touchdowns, tackles, first downs or anything else that happens on the football field. In all honesty, I’m cheering for a certain player solely because his insurance commercials make me laugh every time I eat chicken parm.
And because we’re being truthful here, football Sundays make me slightly nervous because Cory and my mom are diehard football fans — for two rival teams. Like, the kinds of fans who get bent out of shape over a loss, as if they were part of the team (a concept I will never understand.)
I tend to be the peacekeeper between the two football fans I love most, and the way I do that is through food. Any time my mom is over on a football Sunday, I make sure that our kitchen is stocked with foodie favorites, the major one being DiGiorno pizza.
I watch football with the perspective of the referee so to speak, but instead of throwing flags over penalties, I shove good food in people’s faces in the hopes of quelling excessive trash talk. (Again, you’re not on the team, guys. Get over it.)
DiGiorno is my football food of choice because not only is it delicious, but it’s ridiculously quick and easy to prepare; a necessity because I don’t have time to waste in the kitchen leaving those two super-fans to their own devices. Ain’t nobody got time for bloodshed in this house.
While someone is bound to get heated over a “bad call,” I can rest assured that I’ll never drop the ball when I serve DiGiorno. DIGIORNO® Original Rising Crust® pizza has the fresh-baked taste that is always a fan favorite in this house, and that is how I win football games, folks.
