Sunshine State

Hello, hello! Whelp, we made it back by 9:30 last night. Just about 12 hours shy of when our day at the airport started. I almost wept tears of joy when the gate agent called our last name ;)

On to more exciting things. This weekend was an absolute blast! We had no trouble getting there, which was fantastic.

We stayed at my uncle’s beautiful place in Ocala, FL. As soon as we got there, I poured myself a drink and sat out in the sun waiting for The Graduate and the rest of the fam to arrive.

Reunited and it feels so good :)

We spent the rest of the afternoon soaking up the sun, enjoying beverages and laughing until our sides hurt. Apparently, I was also glued to my glass the entire day.

After the sun set, we figured it was time to come inside and start eating! We had some fab BBQ along with a few other tasty sides.

Over the past four years, I’ve realized that UF folk love all things blue and orange. Even down to the cupcakes. Hey, I didn’t hate it ;)

Lindsay’s graduation was at 6 PM on Saturday, so we spent the morning relaxing with a manicure and pedicure. We had lunch at this great restaurant that served tons of “Southern comfort” type meals. I ended up getting a salad, but I tried a bite of my first fried green tomato and it was tasty!

After we ate our fill, we took some pictures with The Graduate. She looked beautiful, per the usual – and I was very proud of my UF inspired outfit ;)

The graduation was surprisingly quick. We got home much earlier than we expected, which was good because we were able to stayed up chatting, eating and drinking before calling it a night. We had to get up pretty early to sit in an airport all day fly home.

And now, here I am! Back in good ol’ Northern Virginia ready to start another week! I love going on trips, but the first day back to reality is always a little rough for me. I just want to still be on vacation mode ;)

Vacation mode or not, I’m off to earn some dolla bills ;) I’ll catch up with you soon! Enjoy your day!

Let’s chat – Is the first day back from vay-cay a struggle for you too? How’s your Monday looking? Busy? Laid back? Let me know!

Sounds like a fun trip! YES, first day back is always rough…I like to take an extra day off before heading back to work so that I can unpack, grocery shop, do laundry, and relax a bit before hitting the workworld full-force again.

Today is a short day at the office due to a dr appointment…yipee!

Looks like you had fun! When I was younger, I reallllly wanted to go to UF. My aunt is a volleyball coach and lots of her girls went there, so it made me want to, haha.

The hardest thing about coming back is unpacking your suitcase. I’ll always just let it sit there for a few days, haha.

What a a fun little getaway. The weather was kinda meh lol For some reason Friday night was nasty and there were random bouts of rain on Saturday. Graduation for me was so exciting but so sad :(

I think the worst bit about coming back from vacay is having to get everything ready for work the next day…..sigh…..here’s to the next holiday! :-) p.s – love your style!

Looks like such a great time!! Glad you had a good vacation. :) The first day back is always a bit tough for my unless it’s after summer break or something (sitting at home really makes me want to get back to school and have something to do!!)..but if I was busy on the vacation, then coming back to school seems so boring.

I always dread the first day back from vacation becasue you are still in VACAY mode! It’s hard to get back into the swing of things after having such an awesome time. But such is life….

I love your outfit by the way! Cute skirt!

Awesome trip! Also? LOVE the orange & blue! Even though I’m a Tiger (Auburn) & not a Gater, I think we can be good friends, simply because of the orange and blue LOL! =)
