Sunday Date Day

Happy Monday, ladies and gents! I hope this weekend was exactly what you needed it to be. I know mine was!

It was filled with friends, yoga, and down time, but Sunday was my favorite because got to spend all day with Cory. He was skiing all day Saturday, so it was great to have an “us” day on Sunday.

It started off with a date at our new favorite place, Brick House Diner.Β I love that the staff is super friendly, the service is unbelievably fast, and we haven’t tasted one bad bite yet.

We’re notorious people watchers, and often find ourselves listening to other people’s conversations when we’re eating out. Because of that, I always wonder if anyone who might look at us would mistake us for a couple who has nothing to talk about!

After breakfast and listening to other people’s conversations, we headed to another one of my favorite places:

As my friend LK pointed out, it looks like we arrived at 6 AM because no one was in the parking lot. We ended up getting there 5 minutes before the opened – it was so odd to NOT have to navigate a crowd. Just another perk of being a 55 year old trapped in a 25 year old’s body πŸ˜‰

Our third stop (all before noon, I might add) was the movie theatre.

Zero Dark Thirty was INTENSE. The movie starts out with a black screen and actual phone calls from people on September 11th. My mom is a flight attendant, and was flying that day in 2001, and my heart still races when I see and hear stuff from that day.

That said, it was fascinating. It was Cory’s pick, but I was enthralled the entire time.

All in all, it was a great date day! Now, it’s off to work…and then class. Ugh. Wish me well. This is the LAST SEMESTER of my graduate school career!

I love that you said you’re a 55-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body. That is SO me! I have a business membership to Sam’s Club, which allows you to shop at 7am. You better believe I am their first customer :-)

I haven’t seen SLP yet, but I reallllly want to! I have no desire to see Les Mis, so I’m glad to hear it wasn’t your favorite.

I love people watching. When I’m having a conversation with someone, I can’t help myself from looking around the room and seeing who’s doing what. It’s pretty rude of me. Haha!

I was at Costco one day last week 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line at the door! My husband & I always listen to conversations wherever we go….so nosy! πŸ˜‰

My husband prefers to go to Costco on Saturday afternoons, which is the absolute busiest time…he claims he just likes going then, but I know it’s for all of the samples. go figure!

I need to go see that movie. I never really like going to the theaters because of how cold it is and how hard it is to find good seats sometimes. But I think this is a movie worth sucking it up for.

Some days I do feel like an old woman. My husband and I also love to people watch and I always realize we haven’t talked in a long time. We probably look like a pretty lame couple but we are having a great time!
