Welp, I think I can enthusiastically mark BLOGGER MEET-UP off my wish list. On Friday afternoon, I made my quest to Virginia Beach to spend the weekend with Alyssa.
This was my “Look-she’s-not-a-man-living-in-a-torture-chamber” picture I sent to my mom to assure her that I was okay with this “stranger.” It’s weird, because although we had never “met” until Friday I honestly feel like Alyssa is an old friend.
Alyssa is just as fun and nice and talented as she comes across on her blog, and I’m so happy we finally got to hang out. When I got there, we hugged like old friends and spent the first hour or so chatting over some wine.
And I guess you could say that the wine never really stopped a-flowin’ …
You better believe that we worked our asses off for all that wine. On Saturday morning Alyssa ran 12 miles and I ran EIGHT miles (PDR!!!) Alyssa was kind enough to run her first four miles alone and picked me up for the last eight. It was tough! But WE DID IT!
We spent the afternoon in Norfolk at the sacred event that is Wine Fest. Alyssa and her friends go every year, and I was so excited to be included in this year’s festivities!
Things started in a classy manner, I promise.
But the wine was just sooo good…
After The Fest, we figured it was time to fill our bellies, so we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for the best flatbread pizza I’ve ever had (It has to be a fact that wine enhances the taste buds.) But what was better than the pizza?
Brian came out to eat it with us!
It was such a fabulous weekend! So fabulous in fact that I ended up in bed by 9:30 last night and slept for almost nine hours. THANKS, ALYSSA!
Tell me about YOUR weekend!
