So, What Have I Been Up To?

Hello, friends! Oh my goodness, what a busy week it’s been. Has anyone else moved recently? Good God – it’s a task! Don’t get wrong – I’m not complaining – I’m simply trying to give you a valid reason as to why my blog has been on the back burner the past few days. ;)

So, what have I been up to?

Moving, of course. And feeling out all the adjustments that go along with a new home.

Like the random noises in the night that remind me of all the horrific, yet fascinating, Criminal Minds marathons I’ve been scarred by enjoyed.

Or you know, like, the double oven. Yet another example of how domestically challenged I happen to be. I’m glad that my brother’s girlfriend, Erin,  was there to capture my candid confusion. ;)

Filming for a TV show. So fun. But so exhausting! I now have a new appreciation for the Kardashians. I mean, Kourtney and I are pretty much the same person these days. Right?

I ooze sex appeal.

Joining a new gym. Yesterday ended a 10-day hiatus from working out. I was oddly nervous before I went to our new gym for the first time. It was strange feeling “lost” in a gym, but let’s just, say spin class hurt just as much as last time. #SOREprivates

I have posts coming up on all these separate topics, but they’ll come at a time when my extra curricular activities cease to include unpacking and reorganizing my entire life ;)

Let’s chat – What have YOU been up to?! Tell me everything. I’ve missed hearing from you!

  1. Moving is exhausting! It took me such a long time to get used to the noises in our apartment, and I’m going to have to adjust again when we (hopefully) buy a house next summer. It’s an exciting change, though!

Isn’t it exhausting?! The first night I head ev-er-ry-thing. It’s getting better, thank goodness! Good luck with the house hunting/buying process in the upcoming months!

  2. Tiff says:

Busy busy busy! You’ll settle in soon. Enjoy the double-oven… pretty jealous over here. :)

  3. Courtney says:

Gosh, you make me laugh. You certainly ARE oozing with sex appeal in that little camera suit. ;)
So, so happy and excited for you on the new house! Looking forward to hearing/seeing more!

  4. can’t wait to watch the show! you’ll of course let me know when it comes on, please!

  5. YAAAYYY for the new house! I’m already jealous of that new oven. Even if you don’t know how to work it.

And I can’t wait to hear more about HH.

  6. Renee says:

The look on your face in front of that oven has me cracking up! And yes you are oozing sex appeal! Congratulations on your new home it looks beautiful in the few pics you’ve posted! I’ve never seen the hashtag #soreprivates but in spin land it was much needed OMG I love you!

  7. Claire says:

Girl, I feel for you! Moving is the worst. I’m not a fan of packing everything up, then unpacking, and organizing. When I moved to Florida this summer, I didn’t even pack up my clothes-I left them all on hangers and strung them across the back of our moving fan so they could go straight into the closet. I can’t wait to watch you guys on TV!

  8. I started watching Criminal Minds last summer on nextflix and became obsessed to the point I actually took a semesters worth of graduate level Criminal Justice courses thinking I would get a second Masters degree.
    That lasted exactly one semester.

  9. Ahhh so excited for the things happening in your life! And I can’t wait to see the episode! :)

  10. I’m so excited for you to settle into your new place. There’s nothing I love more than getting a new place, and “nesting.” Kaylee and I just found an apartment, so we’ll be moving in the next few weeks as well (aka, I’m about to feel your pain lol).

    • Colleen says:

Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!! I wish I had the money to hire professional packers and unpackers. That would be fantastic.

  11. ahh Im so excited for your new house :) I wish we had a double oven!

  12. Oh you crack me up! I am so excited for you two with the house and all! Congrats again! I am jealous of the double oven though, and love the picture of you!

Life has been hectic here, not really been blogging much. But working on a blog post for posting later today. In a nutshell: finishing school, youth group for the year, and Christmas craziness!

  13. I’m so jealous of the double ovens… love that!

My husband and I live in a new construction home and the noises of the house “settling” definitely take some getting used to!

  14. Moving into a new house is so exciting! Can’t wait to see more pics and hear about the filming of a TV show!

  15. OMG sooo exciting!!!
moving is exhausting and i am DONE with it until we buy a house. we of course moved form Alaska to North Carolina last year which was a ridiculously difficult (and expensive) move! then this summer we upgraded and moved out of our 3rd floor apartment to a different (2nd floor) apartment in the same complex (so many stairs!) Then my boyfriends mom passed away and we had to clean out and move her stuff (from Florida to our house in NC) and then next month we have to move his grandma from FL to NC also… so i am all done moving after that for a while i tell you what!
ANYWAY, i am super stoked about the TV show. that is crazy. and i ADORE your kitchen!

  16. My husband and I moved into our first house this last summer and it took a long time to finally get completely unpacked and settled, plus we’re still remodeling some things and adding new decor. It’s mostly fun but definitely a lot of work!! When we turned out furnace on the first time this winter it was like being in the new place again–so many random (creepy-sounding) noises woke me up each night!

  17. Parita says:

I am so excited for you and Cory! I think you two are going to be super happy in your new home. :)

  18. I am another one jealous of your double oven. :D

  19. Oh I know how stressful & exhausting moving can be! It’ll all be worth it in the end, I promise <3 && i can hardly wait for the show.

  20. I moved this summer, just from an apartment to a small house, but yes, everything adds up! It’s so much work, we were non-stop packing/unpacking for an entire weekend. Totally worth it though! Your house looks so great, can’t wait to watch it on House Hunters!
