Yesterday I confessed that I’m not a team player. I confessed that I like competing against only myself, because when I win and accomplish something that I thought was not possible, it feels freakin’ sweet.
Yesterday, I had my first PDR of half marathon training. Seven miles. When I completed it, I was slightly proud of myself. I Tweeted, Gchatted, Facebook status-ed – I wanted the world to know! 😉
I mean, what’s the point in running if you (and other people) can’t be excited about it? 😉
So when I woke up this morning, I was as sore as
two dollar wh – son of gun, so my plans of a short run didn’t happen.
I hate to say it, but I’ve been slightly neglectful of strength training throughout the process of training for the half marathon. So today a quick upper-body workout did the trick.
- Lat pulldowns 15 reps/45 lbs
- Seated rows 15 reps/45 lbs
- In-and-out bicep curls 16 reps/10 lbs
- Lat raises 15 reps/5 lbs
- Hammer curls 15 reps/10 lbs
- Bicep curl into should press 15 reps/10lbs
- Upright rows 12 reps/15 lbs
- Cheat press 10 reps/30 lbs
*Each move was completed twice
Now I’m headed out to cover some local events for my first freelance writing job! Have a fantastic Saturday, my friends.
