I’ve been old since the day I was born. Did you know, that when I “graduated” from preschool, the teachers gave each student an award – like, Best Sharer, Best Colorer, Best Line Leader.
Do you know what mine was?
Most Mature.
So it’s no surprise that I’m kind of strange in the fact that I fully embrace getting “older” each year. Why? Because I feel like the older I get, the more acceptable it is to just be myself.
Like now, at 25, it’s acceptable to go to bed early, save my money, cross stitch, read books for fun, listen to Classic Rock, enjoy the company of adults, and be annoyed by children.
Not so acceptable to feel that way about those things when you’re 10 years old. (I wish I was kidding.)
But no matter my age, there are two things I’ll always enjoy: Spending time with my family and eating a piece of cake or two – both of which I’ll be doing this weekend at my cousin’s wedding!
We’re headed up to Pennsylvania this afternoon and I’m really looking forward to seeing my family

I’m with you on the maturity front — my Mom always said that I was 2 going on 30 … But I’ve found that since I’ve been in my 20s, I’ve been wanting to have more fun and “relive” aspects of my life that I missed out on by acting too grown up. I’ve come to accept a balance — that it’s okay to let go and have fun, but there’s also a time for saving, sleeping, and planning for the future. Life gets complicated as you age!! haha. But it’s really fulfilling to see that the path that you’re making for yourself in life is turning out to be pretty fabulous.

I am the same way! I’m an only child, so my whole life I’ve been surrounded by adults. As a kid I liked museums and art, not the normal kid stuff.

I’ve always been told I’m very mature for my age as well. I think I somehow skipped over that middle school squeeky, overly-energetic, boy-crazy stage and went straight into adulthood! Happy birthday and have a great weekend!

] for your age!” Especially since I just got married… It went from “oh, you’re so young to be getting married!” to “oh you’re so mature for such a young bride!” I’ll take it, another year older just means another celebration
