Hi. Hello? Hey!

Sometimes I feel weird because I don’t know how to write my “salutation” for a post.

Hi! Hey? Howdy, partner! Greetings. What up, baby dolls? (<— something I would never ever say.)

Forget it. Hey. Howya been?

I spent the afternoon just lounging around. I even got to lay out for about an hour, which was fabulous. The sunny weather was just beckoning me to lay outside and soak it all up ;)

The only semi-issue is that the pool doesn’t open until next weekend.

And I don’t have a back yard.

So I grabbed a blanket and hoofed it over to the lake across the street to set up shop. I felt so exposed, although there was really no one else around. It feels so weird to be in a bathing suit in general when it’s sort of out of context – i.e. a grassy field where families take their fully clothed children to chase geese.

I digress.

Cory and I made our way over to Wegman’s this afternoon. Has anyone else ever been there? Holy cannoli! That place is so busy – but I love it! I also enjoy it because it’s like a less-snooty (I said it) Whole Foods.

We bought some kale because a) it’s such a power-house of a food  and b) Cory had the fun idea to make kale chips.

The attempt for making the kale chips was a disappointing one. We cut and ripped just like the internet instructed.

Then we tossed them in olive oil and salt before we put them in the oven to bake at 400 for 10 minutes – but they were a sad sight upon completion. They tasted like salty air. I’ll spare you the photo graphs.

My redemption came in the form of stuffed peppers for dinner.

Burnt Cheese, we meet again.

Despite the burnt appearance, these were actually good! I ended up making mashed cauliflower as a side, and they should receive an honorable mention. For a food that attempts to fill the shoes of the Almighty Mashed Potato, they do an alright job.

Now that we have full bellies and a clean kitchen, it looks like I have some time to catch up on some of my favorite shows :) Does anyone else love Hulu as much as I do?

Have a great night!!

Let’s chat – Do you have a favorite sitcom? I LOVE Modern Family!

My favorite sitcom has become Glee and Quints by Surprise!!!! :)

    I know I am a weirdo! haha

  2. Sorry your kale chips didn’t come out good. I love kale chips. I usually keep the oven at around 350 and check on them every few minutes. Your stuffed peppers look really good though!

I love modern family too! Phil is just to much! I use to love the office but with Michael Scott gone, its just not the same. Parks and Recreation is also hilarious!

I tried making kale chips once and burned them to a crisp and STILL tried tried to eat them. I’ve had a mental block against kale ever since…it’s a shame because it’s so good for you too!

i looove Wegman’s but it always so busy! It’s also a little overwhelming because they have so much to choose from and it’s kind of huge. But I love that you can buy bulk pesto sauce and hummus. Reason enough to brave the crowds.

  5. Yay for the sun! I’ve had some sit outside time this weekend too :)

That’s too bad your kale chips didn’t turn out :( I’ve only made them twice, and I’ve been lucky both times.

  10. Aww I’m sorry the kale chips didn’t turn out well! They definitely can be really delicious though so try again for sure! Angela just put up a really yummy looking recipe for sour cream and onion kale chips….they look really yummy!

  11. Haha! Sometimes I have no idea how to start my posts either. It’s like… do I say hello? Do I just jump into the meat of the matter and avoid saying hello? This is where the flip of a coin comes in handy ;)

I’m actually one of those strange people that doesn’t watch a lot of TV, so I’m not really up to date on all the more current shows. I used to love Seinfeld back in the day though :D

    thos mushrooms look great!

Ab hulu,Brian so wonderfully hooked me up with his netflix account, a great but horrible thing at the same time.. I managed to watch all six seasons of Weeds, and am now really into Glee after watching the first season..all in about a week..these tv sites are so distracting!

I love Wegman’s! I agree that it’s less snooty (and more affordable!) than Whole Foods too. Love!
