Hi, friends! Happy Friday! Because I’m in school, my schedule works out so that I don’t have class or work on Fridays, so it’s officially the weekend for me
This morning I slept in until 7:15. Woah, slow down right? But really, compared to 5:30, 7:15 is just wonderful. I’m going to be honest, and you can feel free to judge, but (again) this morning I debated going to the gym. What the heck is going on here? But, I weighed my options per the usual, and I went. I mean, what else did I have to do?
So I got to the gym, and the “regulars” where there. You know, those familiar strangers. I’m totally weird and I make up stories in my head about what these people are like based on the minimal information I have about them. My favorite is Stanley (that’s his actual name. He told me so.). He is in his late thirties with long, curly gray hair. He does the elliptical for an hour every day at 6:30. He always comes in and says “Happy (insert day of the week here)!!” Yeah, yeah, Stan. Happy whatever day. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to talk to anyone when I’m working out. I’m tired. I’m sweating. I just want to get in and out. Sorry I’m not sorry.
Anyway, I think Stan (I’m sure that’s what he really likes to be called) has lots of cats. I also think he has an abundance of history books strewn about his apartment. I don’t know if he’s ever been on a date, but for his sake, I hope he has. I think Stan calls his mother at least once a day (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
That’s Stan in a nutshell. Enthralling, I know. I could go on and on about PJ (she always wears PJs to workout. I’m confused), The Hunchback of Nordic Track (she hunches over as she goes to town on the elliptical), and Helen (she just looks like a Helen), but not today
I’m sitting in Starbucks sippin’ on my sugar free hazelnut coffee. I’ve treated myself to Starbucks today (not a caloric treat, a spending treat) because I love Fridays
So, for breakfast, I had my grande coffee and a banana
I usually like a bigger breakfast, but my tummy isn’t feelin’ so hot this morning
For my workout:
- I ran a quick mile on the treadmill to warm up
- Weights – squats (20 x 4 ), curls (15 x 2), bicep curl to overhead press – sans the squats this girl in the video does (15 x 2), lat pull down (12 x 2), upright rows -just dumbbells (10 x 2), seated lateral raises (12 x 2), tricep dips (12 x 2)
- And a few more moves I don’t know the names of – I’ve just done them in a class or in a workout video! I focused on my shoulders and back – I’ve got a wedding dress to wear in a few months!
Which is why I’ll be reading this baby later today…
I’m off to spend the afternoon with my mom and dad! My mom is waiting for me so we can watch The Biggest Loser. She’s DVRed it for me so we can watch it together I can’t wait to see who the new trainers are!!
I’m also excited because Cory’s parents are coming to visit this weekend Catch ya later!
