It’s no secret to anyone that I’m a huge snacker. Aside from my beloved breakfast, I could easily snack all day and never sit down to meal. In an ideal world, I would eat chips and dips all.day.long.
So you can imagine that I was all but salivating when I found out that I’d be given the opportunity to try Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt dip. When I went to the grocery store to pick up my dip, I honestly stood here for five minutes trying to decide which flavor to take home with me. I had to choose between Chipotle Cheese, Cilantro Salsa Garden Herb Ranch, and Spinach and Artichoke Greek Yogurt Dips. So many choices!
But the winner was…
As soon as I got this baby in my possession, I grabbed some crackers and dipped right in! I was a little nervous because I’m a huge fan of real spinach and artichoke dip (read: lots of fat) so I wasn’t sure a Greek yogurt version could truly hold it’s own.
Holy smooth and creamy deliciousness! I worried for nothin’, friends. I could definitely taste the Greek yogurt, but it wasn’t overwhelming. I definitely felt like I was indulging, and I ate about seven cracker-fulls before I had to step away.
I’m not a calorie counter by any means, but I do try to avoid “calorie bombs” such as the aforementioned “real” spinach and artichoke dip. I can’t tell you how happy I am to have found a healthy substitute
Would you look at that! 60 calories per serving and I can pronounce everything in the ingredients list. It’s a quirk of mine, but if I can’t pronounce three or more things on the ingredients list, I put it back on the shelf and look for another candidate. Lucky for me, Otria Greek Yogurt Dip is here to stay!
What I also like about this dip is that I can totally see myself using it to fool my friends and family. The “Colleen standard” spinach and artichoke dip in a bread bowl just got a whole lot healthier. To whomever is attending the next party I bring a snack to – you’re welcome.
Aside from dip in a bread bowl, I’d really like to try this dip as a salad dressing. Just think: Spinach, artichoke hearts, onions, mushrooms and cheese topped with a dollop of Otria dip. Mmm – I think I may have tomorrow’s lunch all figured out
I was one of the bloggers selected by T. Marzetti Company and Clever Girls Collective to host a Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip review. They provided me with product to test myself and compensation for my time. However, my opinions are entirely my own.
