Yes, you read that title correctly; and yes, you’re still on right blog.
Let me be honest: If there is one internet movement I identify with least, it’s #fitmom. I love fit moms, I just don’t run with that crowd (or at all, really.)
Fitness used to be at the apex of life pyramid. I was dedicated, in shape…and borderline obsessive. When I was at my “healthiest” I was actually at my unhealthiest. To tell you the truth, that’s probably one of the most genuine reasons I haven’t rushed back into things since having Jack.
I struggle with finding that balance, and the internal battle (I “should” workout; I haven’t worked out enough; I’m not fill-in-the-blank enough) just hasn’t felt like one worth engaging in.
The flip side is that my health is extremely important to me (for one very particular reason) and I’ve been wanting to figure out this “balance issue” for quite some time. I’ll tell ya – it hasn’t been easy!
The main reason being, that in order to afford the lifestyle of a one-income family, we had to cut several luxuries, and the gym was one of them. That was tough for me because group fitness classes are my go-to fix. I have a few Body Pump DVDs, and while I enjoy them, it can get rather repetitive.
So when Booya Fitness, an online on-demand video platform that partners with boutique gyms and acclaimed instructors, came along and offered me a free trial of their services, I figured I had nothing to lose.
Guys, this website it super neat. It’s fresh and cool and has such an extensive workout library. I love that I’ve been able to filter the workouts based on time and goal. I wouldn’t hate to tone this mom bod, but I normally have less than 30 minutes to dedicate to a workout. I’m happy to report that Booya has me covered.
There are also workout plans, which absolutely appeals to both my Type A personality, and the fact that I feel so lost and scattered brained when it comes to fitness. The less I have to think about what I’m doing, the better.
Listen, am I going to be posting any pictures of my progress? No, probably not. Am I going to run another half marathon? Not likely. But I am going to start making fitness work for me (not the other way around) and I’m so glad to have been introduced to a platform that fits so seamlessly into my current lifestyle.
Whether you’re already riding the fitness train or you’re just trying to ease back into it, Booya has something for everyone!
