Eggs, you’re good for a nice change up – but I’ve had cereal on the brain since yesterday when I decided it’d be a good idea to switch up my morning routine.
News flash – it’s never a good idea to switch up my morning routine.
Do you have routines that you stick to on a daily basis – or do you just go with the flow in most circumstances?
My two serious morning routines are breakfast and blogging (which used to be my morning Facebook stalking.) If those two things don’t happen – I’m not a happy girl.
Yesterday I made my first trip into the jail by myself. I have had the pleasure of being trained by a very funny and nice girl, so naturally, every time we go over there I’m just gabbing away and not paying attention.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I get lost in the shower.
When I’m actually paying attention to where we are in the jail, I try to notice “landmarks” or signs, you know? Like “Take a left at the cell with bars.”
Not the best idea, Colleen. Not the best idea.
It all looks the same.
So once I made it through the doors yesterday, I stood there for a moment trying to quell my nervous sweating and just focus. I could do this.
I thought my facials were calm, but a nice man who was leaving said something to the effect of Are you lost, little girl?
How did he know!?
Rather than saying YES! AND I FEAR I’LL NEVER SEEN MY FIANCE OR PARENTS EVER AGAINNNN!
I laughed like a nervous hyena and said Oh, I’m just going to the (blank) office and pointed in what I hoped was the correct direction.
I knew I was headed to the right place. The beige cinderblock walls now looked familiar and I found my way.
Small victories, friends. Small victories.
