Another Post about my Dog [+ LGF Winner!]

Having a new puppy makes it difficult to blog.

pennyThis is the closest I’ve ever been to having a baby, and let me tell you, it’s no cake walk. Planning our days and sleep schedule around an animal’s bowel moments and meals has been an adjustment. While I’ve loved this first week with Penny, I’ll be honest – I am exhausted. The good thing is, I think Penny feels the same way.

I can’t even deal with how freaking cute she is.

I took her to the vet on Monday and she’s weighing in at 26 pounds. The vet told me that when we come back for her next round of shots in three weeks, she’ll be up to 50 pounds.

After having our neighbor’s 17 month old Great Dane come play with Penny this week, I find that easy to believe.

Most people have told us we’re nuts for getting a Great Dane, but we’re so excited and completely in love. We start her training classes next week, and it’s something we’ll be taking very seriously. I can’t have a 110 pound puppy who doesn’t listen to me.

That being said, I think she already knows I’m the boss 😉

Awww bow she is just too cute! But she’s going to be huge! You will definitely need her trained otherwise she’ll be taking you for a walk! :) I remember getting our pups. Yup hard work young pups! x

Wow, 26 pounds already! My Laverne is about 28 pounds now (she’s 11) and it’s hard to imagine your pup being the same size as my old gal. I fondly remember the first few months with Laverne after we got her. I slept on the couch for two months because she had to go out in the middle of the night. It was tiring but awesome. She’s my best friend and it’s all worth it.

    She is just SO cute!!
We got our puppy in April and we were amazed at just how much work it actually was! We didn’t sleep well for the first few nights, we planned things around making a schedule for her (our puppy) for a couple of weeks, and it was exhausting! It’s totally worth it later though, of course :)

I completely agree about how puppies are like babies! I think I got less sleep raising our puppy those first few weeks than I did with our daughter! Good luck, she is adorable and Great Danes are adorable…sweet, loveable giants!

I kind of LOVE that we got puppies at the exact same time. Remind me why we don’t live closer so we can drink vodka out of coffee mugs while our puppies have play dates.

But seriously. I feel like a new mom. I smell because I hardly have time to shower. I’m pretty sure I’m completely covered in pee 90% of the day. Hair and makeup? YEAH. RIGHT. But boy am I head over heels for my little guy :) Penny is actually the cutest little babes ever, I can see why you’re already in love!

We are living the SAME life right now. I constantly smell poop and I’m like “Oh god, where’d she go?!” Sitting down to eat a meal? That’s a joke. Doing any house hold chores? Not happening. But you’re right, I am SO happy!:)

Why can’t we live closer together?! We’d be the best drunk puppy moms on the block.

We got a puppy over the summer. It was impossible to get anything done without him disappearing. So I would sometimes just leave his leash on in the house and attach it to me… totally makes me aware I am not ready for a baby!

What a cutie! It looks like she’s already made herself right at home:) Hopefully her housebreaking comes along really quick too… I don’t want to imagine what kind of surprises a 50lb pup may leave when you have your back turned. Even with the smallest dogs its like “uh oh, where’d she go”. I bet she is just so fun to have around though.

Your pups colors are amazing!! There is a 110lb great dane pup I have been seeing at the dog park lately and I love him!! He has the tell tale puppy hop going on even though he is massivE!
