Almost the Weekend

Hello, hello!! How’s everyone’s morning going? Today is my Friday, so I’m feelin’ pretty good :) I’m traveling this weekend because my cousin is getting married!!

I love weddings, and I love being with this side of the family so much. We were babies at the last wedding – so clearly we’re due for another one 😉

Digital Diet Revisited

Wow! It looks like most of us are technology addicts to some degree 😉 I stayed true to my “diet” last night; I went to stay at Cory’s and did not take my laptop. I always travel with Hank, my laptop. I’m not kidding when I tell you that the decision to leave my laptop at home took several minutes to make.

I need to blog.

I need to read blogs.

I need to check my email.

I need to tweet about something. (<– Newsflash: My life isn’t that interesting that I need to update the world every hour)

I need to check if my old college friend finally posted her wedding pictures to Facebook.

Should I? Shouldn’t I? Back and forth..back and forth…

When I left my apartment, I had the urge to tweet the fact that I was sans computer for the night, but I refrained.

I am, in a word, ridiculous.

I just thought it was absolutely insane how difficult it was for to semi-unplug for half a day, so I thought I’d share it with you 😉

This morning I was up and at ’em and headed to the gym for a strength training session. Because I’m not a trainer or any kind of fitness professional, I feel weird posting my workouts when I just ad-lib them.

And to be honest, today I didn’t go in with a solid plan (that’s a mistake) so I just did a hodgepodge of moves.

I had my beloved PB and Nutella oats this morning 😀

This really tastes like I’m eating a Reece’s peanut buttercup for breakfast – and I don’t hate it 😉

Okay friends, I’m off to day TWO of the new job! Once training is over I plan on filling you guys in on what I’m doing!

Let’s chat –

When was the last wedding you attended? Who was it for? My roommate from college got married in November and it was a beautiful wedding!

Would you rather have a small wedding on a tropical island, or a big wedding in your hometown? To get away would be nice, but I’d be so sad if all my family and friends weren’t there!

mmm, PB + Nutella sounds delicious!

The last wedding I attended was my fiance’s friend from college. It was a gorgeous wedding in a really pretty old-fashioned church complete with a pipe organ!

I’m all about a tropical vacation, so I’d pick that type of wedding!

The last wedding I attended was my college suitemate’s, last summer. I think it’d be kind of romantic and less hectic to have a small destination wedding…but it would be difficult figuring out who to invite/who would actually be willing to travel there!

The last wedding I was officially invited to was my high school friend’s last summer (2010). It was a small service, in the middle of no-where in West Virginia; yet it is super cute!
I went to a wedding on Saturday, Kenneth’s cousin’s wedding. He asked me Friday night if I wanted to go with him (silly boy), I just wore my bridesmaid dress from my friend’s wedding (it is a deep purple, with yellow ribbon, with tiny straps – very appropriate). It was also a small wedding, very cute.

Part of me wants a huge wedding, with tons of people there; yet most of me wants to elope and have a huge party. My eloping (according to my mother) will include her and my best friend from middle school (who is still my best friend). My mother suggested a beach or tropical island; she does not really care, she just wants to go. If Kenneth and I were to get married and only invite family it would be a huge ordeal because he is 1 of 11, and has like 20 nieces and nephews. It would be crazy!
    We shall see 😉

I could use a recess peanut butter cup right about now! I’d settle for your oatmeal though 😉

The last wedding I attended was my college friend’s wedding. It was an Indian Wedding so it was beautiful, vibrant and full of color and culture!

I’d definitely rather have a big wedding in my hometown. I may live in NYC but I’m a small town girl at heart. Can’t wait to get married in Omaha!! (let’s hope that day arrives in less than 10 years..)

I love family weddings! The last wedding I was about a year ago, and the ceremony was on the beach…so pretty!

I wish I could have a destination wedding, but I don’t think that would fly with my parents – they definitely are leaning towards traditional…we’ll see!

I bring my laptop all over the place too! I would have had the same back and forth with myself before leaving it at home, but at the same time it feels SO good to just unplug sometimes – especially when the weather is beautiful! :)

  7. says

Holy crap why haven’t I made pb and nutella oats before?! I’ve made them for my boyfriend when I’m making him something naughty but never for me :( And I love weddings!! Free food, liquor and dancing the night away? Yes please!!

I love the new blog design!! Your breakfast literally looks like heaven in my mouth! And I agree – as much as we’d love to have a small island wedding in Thailand…we would miss all our friends and fam back home! Have a great weekend! :)

I love that your laptop is named Hank. I’m the only person I know who names laptops…I’ve had Maurice, Jordan, And now, Jordan’s gf (she’s pink!)
I love attending big weddings, but I can never picture myself having one. I want a small little thing on a tropical island :)

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a wedding. I went to a work friend’s wedding and it was beautiful. I love weddings.

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who has that thought process, re: to bring the lap top or not. Twitter, blogs, email = a must in my life.

Also – I hope you had a wonderful time at your cousins wedding!
