A Night at CineBistro

I’ll tell you the truth – I rarely go see a movie in the theatre.

The overwhelming smell of stale, buttery popcorn genuinely makes me nauseous, my feet stick to the floor, and I always end up with a pack of snotty pre-teens sitting right behind me.

My seat back is not your foot rest, Little Princess.

Well, there is an exception to every rule, and for this story, the exception is CineBistro. Guys, CineBistro is the Target of movie theaters. Everything you could ever want (i.e. movies, big seats, huge arm rests, food, and booze) is there, and you’ll probably leave spending more money than originally intended.

I mean, how can you say no to a few cocktails prior to your viewing experience? (Or running into a pretty new blog friend!!)

Cory wasn’t drunk, it was so hard taking iPhone pics in a dark room!

Oh, did I mention that CineBistro is a 21 and up movie theatre? That’s right, my friends, you don’t ever have to worry about that pack of pre-teens kicking your seat and laughing during the best parts (the previews, duh.)

While corn dog nuggets dipped in cheese sauce washed down by blue slushy can make any viewing experience a pleasurable one, it really can’t beat salmon, a vodka cocktail, and chocolate cake.

Or rock shrimp mac ‘n cheese.

I’m telling you – if you want to make a night of seeing a movie, you might as well just find the CineBistro closest to you. I can honestly say, once you visit one, it’ll be mighty difficult to ever go back to a regular theatre.

Let’s chat – What’s the last movie you saw in theaters?

Not going to lie — I saw a few of your Twitter updates last night and got EXTREMELY jealous. This idea would bring the whole dinner & a movie date night to a WHOLE different level.
However, I don’t know if I’d be able to concentrate on the movie if I were eating a meal that looked THAT delicious. Ohmygoodness. Wow. Yum!!
Le Boy and I have plans to go for cupcakes then to see Skyfall. But cupcakes and cocktails DURING Skyfall?! Be still my beating heart … 😉

I wish we had something like that here! The closest we have is a dive $1 theater that you used to be able to smoke inside – they serve you horrible pizza and beer and the seats hurt like hell but it’s still fun for a change!

Why can’t they have one of THOSE in Kentucky?! Instead, I end up going to the late movies only to have it overrun by small children who should be in bed. The last movie I saw in theaters was The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was fabulous & highly recommended! :)

That looks like so much fun and having a 21 and up theater is pure genius! We actually have a theater here that has a bar but sadly you only have to be 21 to drink not to actually enter the theater.

My boyfriend and I were just talking about how it feels like it’s been ages since we saw a movie in the theater and we figured out the last one we saw was Batman!

Colleen, how did you get this up so fast?! While I was drunkenly passed out on top of the covers after only 2 1/2 glasses of wine, you were putting together a nicely written, honest and funny review of Cinebistro. You are impressive in many ways, my friend. So good to meet you, we are definitely double dating very soon!!!

I haven’t been to the movies in forever, but CineBistro is seriously the BEST. My only complaint is that they waiters can’t keep the drinks flowing during the movie! :)

  7. says

That always happens to me too- snooty teenagers or popcorn munchers surround me, arg! A few of these types of theaters recently opened up around us that I totally wanna check out :) Do you buy a ticket and pay for your food separately or pay for one whole thing?!

Like you, I rarely see movies in the movie theater. I’m always freezing which makes the entire experience absolutely miserable. I also have major attention span problems so the thought of being trapped in that uncomfortable chair bored out of my mind for 2 hours is more than enough to convince me to wait for the Redbox edition.

The last movie I saw in theaters was Pitch Perfect. I enjoyed it but probably would not have seen it in theaters if I wasn’t able to see it for free with a friend who works at the theater.
