I literally have 5 half-written posts in my draft folder that I can’t seem to wrap up. I currently have a million things going on at once, and while they’re all lovely, I do feel a bit scatterbrained. So I’m going to quit trying to be creative and just sit down for a little chit chat.
Apparently we’re getting some snow. I’m a Doubting Thomas when it comes to snow forecasts. I’ve genuinely heard that Richmond is going to get anywhere from 2-30 inches of snow between Friday and Saturday. I’m not math wiz, but even I know that’s a mighty large gap. I’ll just stick to the tried-and-true “looking out of my window” forecasting technique. But just to be safe, I did brave the crowds at the grocery store to stock up on formula, diapers and wine. The essentials, obviously.
Also, this guy wants all Virginians to be prepared. The 1:25 mark is when things get helpful.
We’ve converted our formal dining room into a play room. Before I became a parent, I rolled my eyes so hard at the idea of playrooms. I didn’t have a playroom growing up, and I thought (and still think) it’s a very middle-class suburban phenomenon. But here we are friends, in suburbia… with a playroom. I hate myself for it, but I’m also so glad because we never used our formal dining room (does anyone?) and now Jack’s ugly toys are not directly in sight.
Once it’s completely decorated I’ll give you the lowdown, but for now, take a look at this console table and HAPPY sign that Cory made. I can’t even teach myself how to fold a fitted sheet, so I’m constantly impressed by Cory’s self-taught woodworking skills.
The new business is going really well! While my focus is on the corporate world, I’m working on a few passion projects that I hope I’ll be able to market to individuals within the next few months. If you haven’t already followed the business on Facebook or Instagram, please do! You can also sign up for the bi-weekly newsletter full of inspirational, motivational, (and maybe even some functional) content. As always, I genuinely appreciate your support.
I have a walker on my hands. As in, Jack is walking. SLOW DOWN, TIME. Sure, he still looks like he’s downed one beer too many, but he’s doin’ it! He still prefers crawling, which is something I’m totally okay with, but I know we’re going to have a full-time walker here real soon.
I’m going to be hosting a weekly Blab starting in February and I’m SO EXITED. I’ll have more details for you soon, but if you’ve never heard of Blab, it’s basically like Periscope and Google hangout had a lovechild (but it’s way cooler than each.) I’ll host a Blab featuring a conversation with a different blogger each week, and we’re basically going to drink wine and talk about mom stuff. Well, February is parent stuff, anyway. I think you should go ahead and sign up with Blab just so you’re ready for our first live show the first Tuesday in February!
And that’s all I’ve got, my friends. What’s going on with you these days?!
