A Junior and an Oblivious Freshman

I’m not trying to turn this into a marriage/lovey dovey blog, but just indulge me for a second today.

I’m from the school of thought that you don’t start over with a blank time card when you get married. Like, I don’t ever say, I’ve been with Cory for a year and two months.

Six years ago today we started the journey that got us to point where I can say, I’ve been married to Cory for a year and two months.

Cory and I met at a party my first weekend in college. He was a Junior and I was an oblivious freshman.

I asked for his number and I called him the next day. I ignored all of those “rules” that a girl is supposed to follow when it comes to pursuing a boy. #sorrynotsorry

A month and a half after we met, Cory made a ring out of tin foil (which I still have) and proposed to me, asking me to be his girlfriend. I was thrilled.

Cory has been my person since day one. Our souls click, and being with him has always made sense. I loved having him by side all throughout college (and his college + MBA), and I’m so glad we decided to keep it that way for forever and ever. :)

Have a great weekend, friends! I hope you get to spend it with the people you love!

You guys are simply TOOOO cute!!
I love that you didn’t follow the rules — girls who don’t play by the rules run the chance of getting hurt, but girls who do play by the rules risk both getting hurt and regretting never making the attempt that they know might have made them happy. I hope never to live in regret — and though I have been hurt in the past, I’m still not likely to play by the rules.
It’s working out for me so far this time!! :) And I couldn’t be more excited.

Ps. Colleen — you’re such a breath of fresh air. Thank you for being you!! Your radiance and enthusiasm eminate and create a glow that swallows all those around you into a make-shift hug. I love it. :)

I love love! Vishnu and I are especially fond of our dating annv. as well! And with every post you write about you and Cory, I realize more and more that our relationships are very similar! It’s like reading a post I could’ve wrote every time! Hope y’all have a great celebratory weekend!

Awwwww….so cute! I love hearing people’s stories, they are all so different. My husband and I met shooting a commercial together…no joke. I have to track down that TV ad and do a post about it someday. :)

This is super cute–Happy 6 Years!
I can definitely relate too…my husband and I have been married for just 4 months but we’ve been together for almost 6 years, which is the anniversary that means much more to us than our wedding day!

Aw, you’re such a sweet couple and have a great love story! Also, it just goes to show following the rules isn’t necessary but rather following your heart.

I hope you’ll get to spend many, many more years with each other!

By the way: I find it sooo cute you kept the foil ring Cory gave you!!!
